DataRealm to Introduce new Tool Monitoring System at Industrial Process Improvement Technologies Conference.

DataRealm Inc. will introduce advanced web-based tool life monitoring software at the unique two day "Automation Rendez-vous 2009 conference that is part of this year's Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show. The conference will run October 20-21, 2009 in the Direct Energy Centre, Toronto, ON.

As part of its implementation of Manufacturing Business Intelligence solutions, DataRealm has developed a tool life monitoring system, known as ToolMon, that is able to:

	Predict upcoming tool changes by hourly increments.
	Provide immediate tool breakage analysis
	Connects directly to cutting machines.

DataRealm Appointed Cognex Partner System Integrator...

Manufacturing IT Systems Integration and Controls Engineering firm DataRealm Inc. has been appointed a Cognex Partner System Integrator. The appointment gives DataRealm the opportunity to add Cognex identification readers and related products to the services it offers clients in the automotive, heavy equipment, food and beverage and durable goods industries.

Cognex's award-winning family of high-performance image-based ID readers are designed to provide high reliability reading of 1D and 2D codes on the widest range of applications. This includes the easiest to read codes to the most difficult including those marked directly on metal, glass, ceramic, and plastic parts. The information collected from its ID readers is used to track products during production and is most often integrated in data acquisition and manufacturing business intelligence systems.

Transmission plant selects DataRealm...

Transmission plant selects DataRealm to install manufacturing business intelligence system as the sharing of plant information becomes increasingly critical to effective operations more and more manufacturers are turning to DataRealm for highly robust manufacturing business intelligence (MBI) systems. The company's most recent assignment will see it draw on its systems integration skills to install a plant wide factory information system (FIS) at a large transmission production plant operated by a major automaker.

Key to the assignment is creating a plant floor data acquisition system to circumvent the various differences in devices in a way that delivers information in a common format to management.
There are multiple values to factory information systems or plant operating systems as they are also known. One of the most important is the impact that data collected from the plant floor can have in reducing downtime and increasing production efficiencies..

DataRealm is Doing the Impossible...

DataRealm is doing the impossible, changing the controls in a large engine manufacturing facility while the plant continues to operate.

For the best part of a year a DataRealm field team spends its weekends meticulously swapping out the controls at selected assembly stations. There is rarely a hitch in a process that is so seamless that the plant is able to restart each Monday for a five day production run without even a hint of downtime - exactly as planned and as promised.

One reason the operation is so smooth is that DataRealm's controls engineers spend weeks mapping out the plan for each weekend. One of the unique challenges they face is that both new and installed controllers - along with all hardware and software - must co-exist throughout the process so that the upgrades will not disrupt production.
